WI arrive today

Former world champions West Indies cricket team will arrive in the city today (Tuesday) at 8:00 pm on a month-long tour to Bangladesh to play one Twenty20, three ODI and two Test matches against the Bengal Tigers, reports UNB.

Darren Sammy will lead the West Indies team against the newly appointed Bangladesh captain cum wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim side.

Celebrated batsman Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Dwayne Bravo were not considered for the West Indies Test and ODI squads for the Bangladesh tour while wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin has been recalled for both the squads.

Gayle has not played for West Indies since the 2011 World Cup, following a breakdown in his relationship with the West Indies Cricket Board. He chose to participate in the IPL in April after being left out of a training camp ahead of the home series against Pakistan.
