by Marlon Samuels guided visiting West Indies to a 75-run victory over
BCB XI in the lone T20 warm-up match at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in
Narayanganj Sunday, reports UNB.
Batting first after winning the toss, West Indies piled up a huge total of 195 for 3 in stipulated 20 overs.
One
down Samuels smashed an unbeaten 102 runs off 56 balls with 14 fours
and three sixes while number four batsman Andre Russell hammered 58 runs
off 35 balls with four fours and four sixes.
Farhad Reza captured two wickets conceding 37 runs while Shuvogoto Hom took one for 31.
Chasing a huge total, BCB XI were all out for 120 in quota 20 overs.
One
down Shahriar Nafees scored 23 runs off 34 balls with two fours while
number four batsman Roqibul Hasan made 22 runs off 18 balls with a four
and two sixes.
Besides, Mominul Haque (17), Nadif Chowdhury (11),
M Mithun (11 n.o) and opener Junaed Siddique (10) were the other
notable scorers for BCB XI.
Marlon Samuels and Darren Sammy
captured two wickets apiece for 18 and 23 runs respectively while Carlos
Brathwaite took one wicket for 18 runs.
West Indies will play
the only T20 international match against host Bangladesh tomorrow
(Tuesday) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur before
the three-match ODI series staring on October 13 at the same venue.
