BCB ready to host ICC Women's WC Qualifiers

Bangladesh eves will meet Pakistani eves in the inaugural match of the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, on November 14 in the city, reports BSS.

The ICC Women's World Cup Qualifiers, which is participated by ten teams, will be played at four venues across the city. The venues are Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Narayanganj Osmani Stadium, BKSP-1 and BKSP-2.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) arranged a press conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Sunday.

Bangladesh Cricket Board President AHM Mostafa Kamal said that they want to make this event a success like the ICC cricket World Cup held earlier this year.

He said during the matches they would allow free access for the spectators at the stadium to encourage the local eves.

Kamal said it is very difficult for BCB to run the event with inadequate fund received from ICC out of the total tournament budget, although BCB will leave no stone unturned to meet the rest of the fund to run the event properly.

Women's cricket committee Chairman Abdullah Al Fuwad Redowan said their team has taken good preparation ahead of the event.

The first four teams of the tournament will qualify for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2013 which will be hosted by India. The first two teams among the four will qualify in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Cricket to be held in Sri Lanka next year, he added.

Participating teams:

Group A - South Africa, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and USA

Group B- West Indies, Pakistan, Ireland, Japan and hosts Bangladesh.
