Jason Swift appointed Bangladesh Fielding Coach


Bangladesh Cricket Board has appointed Australian Jason Swift as the National Team's Fielding Coach for the next two years. 40-year-old Swift is currently the fielding coach of Lancashire County Cricket Club. He is expected to join the squad ahead of the Tour of Zimbabwe which starts later this month.

Jason Swift is an ECB Level 4 qualified coach and has been with Lancashire for six seasons as a coach and performance analyst. He is also the Head Coach of the county's Colts Team and Assistant Coach of its Academy.

Swift was an accomplished league cricketer who played for Canberra Comets between 1997 and 2000 and captained Queanbeyan CC (Canberra) for three years. A left-handed batsman Swift broke the Bolton League record for most runs in a season with 1797 runs which included the league's highest individual innings record when he made 226 not out.
