Tigers will play 3rd ODI today

CHITTAGONG, Oct 17 (BSS): High flying West Indies would be looking forward to complete the whitewash while Bangladesh on the other hand would be looking to stop their losing streak as they meet each other in the 3rd ODI of and final match of the Walton series today (Tuesday) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

The match will be a day-night affairs starting at 1:30 pm.

The weather forecast said it will be raining today (Tuesday). Rain already interrupted the practice session of the Bangladesh team and there is strong possibility of rain during the third ODI.

Bangladesh suffered a 40-run defeat in the first ODI while in the second match they were suffered another humiliating defeat eight wickets. Both the matches were played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS).

Local pundits believe, Chittagong ground is a lucky mascot for the Tigers. Even during the World Cup held this year in March, Tigers were simply outplayed (except Ireland tie) in SBNCS in Dhaka but Bangladesh beat both England and Holland in Chittagong. Besides this ground has been a good hunting ground for them as they have won the last three ODI matches here at this venue. So there is every chance for the Tigers to claw their way back in the 3RD ODI.

West Indies skipper Darren Sammy made clear his views regarding today's (Tuesday) match after a strenuous practice at Chittagong Stadium Monday. He said, "We would love to end the ODI series on a winning note. Both our batsmen and bowlers have been doing well in the last two matches".

"As you know we would be playing the first Test on October 20 at the same ground. Lenfl Simmons and Marlon Samuel are in a tremendous form while Kemar Roach, Ravi Rampaul and others are in good nick and I see no reason why we would not be able to clean sweep the ODI," said skipper Sammy.

Young gun Nasir Hossain talking on behalf of Tigers said, "It would be shame if it rains tomorrow. We have a good team meeting trying to identify the areas where we have done wrong, hopefully tomorrow we all would try to play to our true potential. We all hope local boy Tamim Iqbal finds his magic touch which would be necessary if we want to stop the West Indies winning streak."

West Indies: Adrian Barath, Lendl Simmons, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Andre Russell, Darren Sammy (capt), Ravi Rampaul, Devendra Bishoo and Anthony Martin / Kemar Roach.

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful, Alok Kapali, Mushfiqur Rahim (capt & wk), Naeem Islam, Nasir Hossain, Abdur Razzak, Shafiul Islam and Rubel Hossain.
